FairWild is a private standard developed by the FairWild Foundation, based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The standard focuses on the sustainable harvesting of wild plants and incorporates seven principles and 24 criteria, addressing three key approaches: ecological, socio-cultural, and economic.

The FairWild Foundation is an international organization established in 2008 in response to the growing demand for wild plant ingredients and the challenges associated with their ecological and social use. The organization’s mission is to create a global system of fair trade and sustainable management of wild plant resources.

Currently, FairWild-certified areas cover 1.7 million hectares across various regions worldwide, including Africa, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Organic Standard is a recognized body for conducting inspections and certifications in accordance with the FairWild standard requirements.
